Over thirty years ago a small group of enthusiasts from Rocky Mountain Region met with car nuts from Colorado Springs to help start a new region. Spearheaded by Fred Veitch and Chick Misura, Alpine Mountain Region was organized and then chartered in 1975. The charter was presented by Hank Malter, treasurer of PCA, at the Zone 9 mini parade formally starting up AMR. The mini parade also evolved into the Fiesta del Porsche which is celebrating it's 30th anniversary.

To celebrate where it all began, please join us at the first Challenge Series driver's ed of the season. As part of the weekend's activities, following dinner Saturday night at the Hogs Breath, we will have a slide show narrated by as many of the early guys as we can dig up. Be there to hear the history first hand and find out how bench racing has changed (or not) in 30 years.

Had you been there in 1975, here is some of the stuff you might have seen.

Here is a wrap up of the event.
