The 30th anniversary of Alpine Mountain Region of the Porsche Club of America was a good enough excuse to put on a driver's ed event. We converged on La Junta for a full weekend of driving, bench racing, and cameraderie.

Over 85 enthusiastic PCAers turned out for dinner and a slide show on Saturday night. Fred Veitch was Master of Ceremonies and provided a warm introduction of the folks who helped to start or support AMR in the early years. Huge support during that time came from the Denver and Colorado Springs Porsche Dealers, Bob Hagestad and Duane Mentzer. We were lucky enough to be joined by both of them. Additionally, Greg Volan, and Chick Misura came to the event, drove, and had a good time. Greg provided many of the pictures for the slide show, and remembered each picture, both the car model and who owned it. Chick was president of RMR in 1975 and was one of the prime movers in starting AMR.
